This
is no hoax. My son was continuously getting a flashing notice on his
Taskbar to update his Windows Antivirus with "Ultimate Antivirus
2008". He did, it was listed at $29.99. The Taskbar then displayed a
Windows logo displaying a question mark. A
call and a remote access with Microsoft indicated he was not a subscriber
to any Windows AV. The Microsoft contact was able to install and run
Windows Live OneCare http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/center/cleanup.htm on
his system (it took approx 2 hours) 4
Trojans and other garbage were removed and his system is now running much
better. The flashing icon promoting the fake update was also
removed. He
notified his credit card company to Stop Payment and he received
a new credit card. The
bandits had charged him $69.99, not $29.99 as previously listed. My
son also mentioned all headings, forms and logos looked 100% real, payment
was by any of the major credit card companies and they were using
something similar to, but not the Pay Pal option. For
more info, use any search engine and type in with quotation marks -
