Safety tips

There is no place like home, yet injuries are a major concern. Here are a few "safe" ideas

to help reduce the risk of injuries.

Carbon Monoxide Detector with battery back-up

Put one near the furnace room and one on each level of your home. It is a dangerous gas that you can't

see, taste or smell.

Smoke Detector

Put one outside the bedrooms and one on each level of your home. It will alarm in the EARLY

stages of a fire so you can get out safely.

Fire Extinguisher

Put one in the kitchen where you can reach it easily. Class ABC is an ALL PURPOSE extinguisher.

Appliances with automatic shut-off

Choose appliances with this feature for busy people on the go.

List of emergency numbers

Keep one by each telephone for quick and easy access.

Rubber mat for the bathtub

Use a mat to prevent a slip.

Non-skid welcome mat

Choose non-skid so you don't trip.

Outdoor light fixtures

Install one to light the way.

Flashlight with batteries

Keep one easily accessible to be prepared in a blackout.

Nightlight

Keep the light on to guide you through the night.

Timer switch for lights

Use a timer switch when you are away so it looks like you are home.

Think PREVENTION. BE SAFE!
